AID Japan and Tadao Ando Architect & Associates have signed a formal Design Services Agreement for Ando Village — a 50,000 square metre residential and wellness estate in Niseko. The signing took place at Tadao Ando's Osaka studio in early September.
The masterplan calls for twelve bespoke villas distributed across the site to preserve sightlines to Mount Yotei, anchored by a 1,000 square metre wellness clubhouse with onsen, gym, library, and a private dining room. Construction is expected to begin in late 2026.
Tadao Ando, who received the Pritzker Prize in 1995, is known for working concrete, water, and natural light into spaces that read as both monumental and intimate. Ando Village will be his first large-scale residential commission in Hokkaido and his first project in partnership with AID Group.
The development complements the 1898 Niseko hotel, the Niseko Riverside development, and the Yoteizanka Fudosan brokerage as part of AID Japan's anchored ecosystem in Kutchan.
