The 1898 Niseko Opens — The Ideal Luxury Hotel for Families and Large Groups

The 1898 Niseko officially opened its doors as a luxury boutique hotel built for multi-generational families and large groups travelling together. Six expansive suites — 100 to 350 sqm each, with private in-room onsen and personal butler service — connect through shared lounges and private dining for up to 52 guests.

On December 12, 2025, The 1898 Niseko welcomed its first guests — opening as the flagship of AID Group's hospitality pillar and, by design, the ideal luxury property in Niseko for multi-generational families and large groups travelling together. The boutique hotel, set against Mount Yotei in Kutchan, was built around a single idea: take a single party of up to 52 and host them as one household, with the service depth of a private estate and the amenities of a five-star hotel.

The property comprises six suites between 100 and 350 square metres — large enough for couples, three-generation families, and groups of friends to live together comfortably. Each suite has a private hinoki onsen and a dedicated butler, with the larger rooms accommodating eight guests in connected bedrooms. Public spaces are anchored by a Cantonese restaurant helmed by chefs flown in from Hong Kong, a rare Japanese whiskey bar with bottles dating to the 1960s, and heated ski concierge lockers with three-minute transfers to the Grand Hirafu lifts.

Behind the scenes, a trilingual omotenashi platform — built by AID's in-house team — handles concierge requests in English, Japanese, and Chinese; an internal hospitality system coordinates dining, ski timings, and in-room preferences across the whole house when a single party books the property. "Niseko has many luxury rooms," says CEO Snir Zano. "There are very few places that can host a family of twenty as one. That is what we built."

Bookings for the 2026 winter season — including full-property buyouts for groups, weddings, corporate retreats, and milestone family gatherings — are now open through the1898niseko.com. Daily property updates, suite previews, and seasonal programming are shared on Instagram at @the1898niseko. Capacity is intentionally constrained: every stay is personally handled by the hotel director.
